Awkwafina

Awkwafina has been described as an American actor and musician who made her name with clever raps that tackled gender and ethnic identities from a an edgy, comical perspective. Then she branched out into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Koreans living who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was from the trumpet. After a classical and jazz education, she delved into hip-hop in her teen years. While in school, she concentrated on women's studies and journalism. She studied Mandarin briefly in Beijing. She didn't start focusing on music until she completed her degree. Her 2012 track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet and was later released on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album featured other viral hits like the body-positive Queef as well as the cheeky hometown tour NYC Bitche$1. The latter track was tied to Awkwafina's NYC guide to travel in 2015. guide. As a musician and an author as her credentials, she set her sights on an actor for a third venture. In addition to early shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies such as Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, she scored her first major role in a number of high-profile movies like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released by in Fina We Trust in June of that year.
